About me and this blog

I've been writing since I was 14. That’s 25 years. Two and half decades. That’s a quarter century. That’s Shawn Mendes. That’s half Kate Beckinsale.

In that time I've seen my work in a few anthologies and online magazines. I’ve also had a couple of short films and plays produced some of which have done well. I completed a master’s in creative writing and pulled together some lovely scripts in that. I was shortlisted for a big BBC competition but didn't quite make it over the line.

See the pattern? Lots of mini successes. Lots of almost. I’m not complaining.  

As I meet the middle of my life head on, I'm trying to keep this blog going with things that will be of interest to people. I'm also keeping it as a record of what I've done and what I'm planning to do. Writing takes a long time. Writing with a family and a full time job takes even longer. I hope, though, that keeping this running (and paying for it!!) will keep drawing me back to this frustrating, time consuming and brilliant pastime.

Who are my readers?

As I write this, most of my readers are related to me.

In the future, though, I hope to attract a certain type of person to my blog.

• Writers who wants the occasional stretching thought to inspire their work.
• Anyone who is looking for some good book, movie and TV recommendations.
• People that like my writing and want to figure out when I might write something new.
