Inspiration: Four Thousand Weeks
Time for another self-help book. I enjoy reading these as I find that the good ones help with both my writing and my work life. This book, though, by Oliver Burkeman, might be one of the most important ones I've read in a long time.
Burkeman makes the point that we are limited in our time on Earth, and part of that is accepting that we will never get around to everything that we want to do. There are loads of suggestions and perspectives on how we live and work, and some helpful prompts at the end to ask questions.
Although this book won't ever make me the quasi-human, massively productive monster of a man that our society seems to demand, I honestly think I will be able to take some of the thoughts and ideas to vastly improve my life - and let me enjoy it more.
A lot from a book, I know. Still, it probably shows how impactful I found it.
