I think I’ve caught dad jokes

I'm worried there's no cure

My daughter now is nearly three

And my jokes are worse I'm sure

It's impacting all my life

I just don't know what to do

Here are some examples

That I've written down for you

I bought a new thesaurus

Alternative phrases I would gather

I opened it to find blank pages

I had no words for my anger

I washed my car with my child

Who asked ('though not in ryhme)

Wouldn't it be easier, Dad

To use a sponge this time?

I work now and then in the office

Where my affliction shouldn't matter

But I'm even getting scared of lifts

Although I'm taking steps to get better

Call me a plumber!

My wife did shout

Water flooding from the bath

You're a plumber

I replied happily

Although she didn't even laugh

It's probably a part of life

Something I must embrace

Although part of me is worried

That I'm becoming a disgrace
